Where I grew up almost every kid had a bike and loved riding around the neighborhood after school. That day, early in spring when it got just warm enough in the sun to strip down to a sweatshirt and shorts, we jumped on our bikes and went for a long ride out in the countryside near home. My memories of this inspired the painting. This artwork captures the details of the spokes, crank, pedal and other mechanical parts adding to it her unusual style and unconventional use of bold colors, contrast and composition. This painting recreates a blue bike with orange tires and red spokes over top of a greenish yellow background. It's unframed and finished off with painted edges. All hardware is attached and the painting is ready to hang.
