2021, "Blossom" - stone sculpture

This original solid gabbro sculpture is one of the latest artworks of the talented professional Bulgarian sculptor Rasho Mitev, deeply inspired by modernism, minimalism, naturalism and gravity defying art. Gabbro is a mafic intrusive igneous rock formed from the slow cooling of magnesium-rich and iron-rich magma into a holocrystalline mass deep beneath the Earth's surface. Much of the Earth's oceanic crust is made of gabbro, formed at mid-ocean ridges. Gabbro is also found as plutons associated with continental volcanism. The artist's concept is to unite this beautiful black stone material with the delicate shape of the flower blossom. The sculpture has beautiful authentic natural charm, mixed with the unique skilful style of the artist. It is one exquisite modern art object and floral home decor.
