Original artwork description:

“Broomhill Pond 2 – colour study” is an acrylic painting on 300g canvas paper. The painting continues to develop my interest in reflected light on water. It is window mounted in a cream coloured card frame 50.5cms x 40.5cms which will fit any standard A2 picture frame.
Broomhill pond is part of the Broomhill Estate in Muddiford near Barnstaple in North Devon. The estate lies in a glorious, undulating valley surrounded by hundreds of acres of woodland and bound by its own stream. Broomhill estate is home to a stunning collection of over 200 sculptures set around the gardens. I visited the sculpture gardens in July 2021. The gardens are in fact dense woodlands with a large pond at the heart of the densely populated boscage. Light filters through the trees and bounces off the glistening pond waters. There is sparkling light set against a canopy of green broken by speckles of orange montbretia flowers. In ‘Bloomhill Pond 2’ my attention focuses more on the dense undergrowth surrounding the pond and the reflected colours of the foliage on the waters.
The painting is shipped in a card envelope/folder.
