This is a pastel drawing of a very known place in Slovenia called Bled.
Bled is known for the glacial Lake Bled which makes it a major tourist attraction.
On the lake there is an island with a small church. Perched on a rock overlooking the lake is the iconic Bled Castle.
There is an old legend about a young burgess who lost her husband. She ordered the bell for the church on the small island of the lake, so her husband could hear her prayers. Due to a strong storm, the bell sank into the waters of the lake when they drove it by boat.
Every Christmas people from Bled, in memory of the legend, sink the bell into the water and then pull it out.
