This is Blackfriars Bridge in London (before they extended the train station platforms onto the bridge) in the morning at low tide, a scene that many commuters must be familiar with. I had just seen an exhibition by Andrew Gifford which influenced the lighting and brushwork. Tate Modern can just be seen on the far right of the picture.

Materials used:

Oil on mdf board, gessoed on both sides.
