In the series "Black'n'White" I talk about the representation of black and white. Society has designated black as a symbol of darkness and evil, and white — purity, correctness and goodness, and encourages the desire from the first to the second.

I say that the real darkness is unconsciousness. An attempt to present to the world only its "bright" side, denying and glossing over shortcomings. An attempt to destroy the "evil" in yourself.
But without a shadow, there is no light.

All feelings and emotions should exist in harmony - one balances the other. The fire of anger will begin to destroy only if it gets out of control, as well as the softness of kindness will turn into a destructive tsunami.

Black is just black.
White is just white.
Become yourself, not the best version of yourself.

Black water symbolizes deep reflections and the subconscious, a manually burned frame - the destructive effect of the fire of emotions, if they are not lived to the end. The combination of opposite elements means the unity and wholeness of the personality, to which the author aspires.

The charcoal frame is covered with yacht varnish. Valeria also used gold leaf for this painting.
