A plurality of art historians, curators, and critics refer to Malevich's Black Square as one of the seminal works of modern art, and of abstract art in the Western painterly tradition generally. Malevich declared the square a work of Suprematism.

Malevich painted his first Black Square in 1915.
I painted a copy of this iconic painting by Kazimir Malevich exactly 100 years later, in 2015 :)

Oil on Canvas. Everything is covered with LUKAS Cracking Varnish.
LUKAS Cracking Varnish gives surfaces an authentic, antique appearance and placing a fine crack lattice on an already finished picture. Thus painting receives a crackled patina to appear like an old-master painting.
