This piece is a black encaustic painting (bees wax, damar, pigment) on nine10" wood panels, that piece together to make a 30” square painting. The paint surface is rich and highly textured. The spaces where there is no paint show the raw wood of the pine panels.
The title refers to a song. Like music, paintings can be full of feeling, while not always having a narrative. I've chosen to name these pieces after songs because I feel a connection between music and this body of work, and the songs are an inspiration.
Please note, the frame in the interior shot is for reference only.
