This is one of a series that I am working on depicting females in various poses and showing a variety of expressions. From Di Vinci’s Mona Lisa to Warhol’s Marilyn, more works of art have focused on the female than any other subject, and for good reason.
BLACK SHEATH is an image that I originally created using some of the graphics software that I used in my architectural practice. I do this with all of my paintings…. work out all the figures, colors and details before I start work with actual paint. This is a one-of-a-kind, original work of art and no authorized copies will ever be made. The painting is signed on the front and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.
I work exclusively with India ink and acrylic paint on 4 mil archival grade mylar. the acrylic for the background work and the India ink for details.
All of my artwork has a clear protective coating applied so that it is not necessary nor desirable to put it behind glass. This painting will be shipped in a tube. The painting is very easy to mount on any type of sturdy surface (masonite, plywood, foamboard, etc.). I include simple mounting instructions with each piece that I sell. If you prefer, I will mount the artwork on tempered masonite board with a two or three inch border surrounding the painting. It will be “ready to hang”, with a hanging strip attached to the back and a wall hanging device that is very simple to use. It will be shipped in a cardboard box. You may take it out of the box and have it hanging on your wall within five minutes. The extra charge is $50.00 for mounting plus the additional shipping costs.
