This pencil drawing of an Orchid pays homage to the Japanese art of ikebana (Japanese flower arranging) playing with the colour black in a contemporary minimalist style.

Playing with scale in my characteristic way to point towards the need for humanity to not take itself as seriously as it does and not to sweat the small stuff.

Intricately rendered in coloured pencil the piece entices and intrigues the eye.
