Black Knot based on the Solomon’s Knot witch marking at St John’s church in Duxford, Cambridgeshire. The Witches’ marks are properly known as apotropaic marks, from the Greek word for avoiding evil. The tangles of lines in the design were believed confused spirits who attempted to follow them. This is 3D floating version and is part of a larger witches marks series I've created.

Everything is drawn directly into the computer (no scans or photographs) using vector curves. The finished artwork is printed out as a limited edition Giclée print.

This is an original digital artwork. The above image is taken directly from the image file, rather than being a photograph or reproduction of the final print. Output is on 250gsm smooth paper with superior saturation, depth and colour, and with a smooth matt surface. Ink : Archival pigment ink, UV stable, providing superb colour.

Printed colours vary slightly from those produced by a computer screen.

By default the print is cut with a 1.5 cm white border. If you wish your print to be cut to the edge of the image let me know.

Your print will wrapped in layers of acid free tissue then rolled into a strong cardboard tube for posting along with a letter from the artist.
