Original artwork description:
An oil painting on board made from a window in my house looking toward the west. Snow was still on the hills in the distance but spring was already on the way. Made around April 2015.
This is a large painting with depth of field. The colours are subtle and the eye runs around the image from winter to spring in the bottom corner.
Pattern and colour are the main visual elements. It's a Scottish landscape with a unique aspect from an unusual angle.
Oil on heavy MDF board which has a ground of three coats of gesso in the traditional form.
