Birth Of Bacchus. looks at hedonism and it's consequences. Bacchus being the Roman God of wine and intoxication. The God watches over the scene of debauchery foaming at the mouth himself too drunk to realise what is going on. Weighing the grapes against the brain. He watches as a minotaur representing sexual virility and blind lust has sex with a catholic devote. The Minotaur has been speared like a bull fight but is unaware as too involved in the drink and sex. The devotee looks as blood turns to wine. Both are oblivious to the consequences of their actions
