Original artwork description:

I used a palette knife to apply the thick oil paint on this painting - this gives a thick, loose and fluid effect to the flower. The flower is a dahlia, which is named The Bishop of Landaff and is one of my favourite dahlias - not too blousy, but bright and vivacious.
It is a small painting that can sit on a desk or windowsill if you do not wish to hang it on the wall.
