Taken on a Brisbane Beach, these 2 Australian Seagulls, know as Silver Gulls (Chroicocephalus novaehollandiae), were having a power display and stand off over a very smelly fish carcass!! it was a very funny encounter and the shot reminds me of a bullying sergeant barking out orders to "Do the Silly Dance" :0)
It ended up with the "dancing gull" flying off to find his own rotten fish.
The Silver Gull is a common Seabird throughout Australia, distinguished from the 2 other Australian gulls by the bright red legs and beaks along with a rather charming red ring around the eyes
