Original artwork description:

At my home I built a garden to attract birds and butterflies. As the garden grew I saw more and more birds. I spent a lot of time lounging in my garden patio watching the birds. This painting was my first inspired by my garden.
I use wood panels (sometimes canvas). First layer is built with plaster or modeling paste. Acrylic washes are dabbed or poured on the wet plaster/paste. When the surface is dried I manipulate it by sanding and scratching. More layers are added by repeating this process. Oil paint is used for final layer defining shapes referencing birds and nature.
