How to build lightness, making it perceive through a simple but at the same time dense and full-bodied idea? When I face a new painting in a dynamic way lately I am very attracted by the concept of lightness, as it is easy to weigh down, darken with color, lighten a little less. This painting is the first of a series that I am preparing in which I apply the dynamic study of some flying birds to a strong wave of gradient color. So I try to create two planes of movement, the first determined by the color (which gradually fades from yellow towards red) the second given by the subject (in this case by the birds) whose shapes are stylized to the maximum, almost hinted at to lighten the overall impact. In doing so, it is not the subject that comes first to understanding, but the movement of color, supported later by a coherent design.
