Painted on-site at Minnehaha Park in Minneapolis, MN. Features an autumn grouping of five river birch trees.
The birch tree leaves range in color from yellow ochre and golden yellow to lemon yellow, and form a canopy of foliage. The scene is accented by glimpses of orange oak trees, shrubs, and bare branches in the background, and fallen leaves below the trees. Painted on board with oil over casein paint. Includes iridescent oil paint in the shrubbery and tree trunks. Running and dripping effects in the grass are created with casein paint, whose matte texture contrasts with the thickly applied oil. Oil paint has been applied with both palette knife and brush, and includes impasto textured tree trunks and leaves.
Framed in a 3" wide wood framed with a gold finish. May be purchases unframed by request.
