Original artwork description:

Big Sur is a stretch of gorgeous, undeveloped coastline with incredible views of the Pacific Ocean, craggy cliffs, stunning beaches, and amazing California state parks.
I believe the drive down Big Sur along The Pacific Coast Highway, or Highway1, is the California’s most scenic drive, with the panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and the long stretch of coastline into the distance.
The restorative power of nature is extraordinary, and our souls are craving an escape to places of inspiration and serenity.
The benefits of “blue space” – the sea and coastline, rivers, lakes, canals, and waterfalls, - are that being in or near these blue spaces boosts our emotional wellbeing.
The sea has a meditative quality – whether it is crashing or still, whether you are in the water or observing it from the shore, - you can immerse yourself in it.
Looking at the seascape paintings can bring a similar effect and create a feeling of immersion.

Materials used in creating this artwork: Professional quality oil paint on Oil-Primed Extra-Fine Linen on ACM (Aluminum Composite Material) panel. ACM panel consists of two strong sheets of aluminum bonded to a solid polyethylene core. The panel is coated on one side with a white polyester coil coating and a mill (polished aluminum) finish on the other side. ACM art panels offer a superior support for painting and mounting because ACM panels are virtually unaffected by environmental changes, such as relative humidity (RH) and temperature.

Materials used:

oil paint, linen canvas, aluminum composite material, ACM panel, Gamvar varnish
