Original artwork description:

Painted en plein air along the stretch of Northern California coast in the Big Sur area on one of those beautiful overcast days. The fog envelopes the cliffs and softens everything, and the world is quiet. En plein air is a French expression which means “in the open air”, and is used to describe the act of painting outdoors to capture the light and colors particular to a location.

Materials used to create this artwork:
Oil on oil-primed Claessens Belgian linen on 1/16 MDF archival art panel, the back of the panel finished with melamine that prevents warping and deterioration. Painting surface is protected with a coat of Gamvar varnish. The painting is varnished and is listed unframed. It will need a frame to hang. It can easily fit in a standard (USA) 9"x12" frame. Images showing the artwork framed in home interiors are for presentation of potential framing ideas only. Frame is NOT included.

Kindly note that not all in-context (in a room) pictures provide a true sense of scale of artwork. Please refer to the listing size.
