A not uncommon blustery wind coming in from the Atlantic making nonsense of any orderly swell formation. But the wonderful clear colours - turquoise, cerulean blue, deep bottle green - are still evident through the frothing shorebreak and spindrift.
This is Cornwall, and is the inspiration for Paul's Big Sea in Cornwall. Rendered on flat board and with heavy structure as an underlay in selected areas, impasto layers of oilpaint combined with subtle semi-transparent washes contribute to make the dramatic scene from Paul's sketches. The painting is sold unframed with a painted concealed wood frame edge flush to the painting reverse for strength and hanging.
Optional frame as per roomset image can be applied for an extra cost on discussion with the artist.
