Artwork description:

'Best Choice in Downtown', captured by Richard Heeps in Kowloon in 2016, this piece perfectly captures the layers of Hong Kong. As a photographer Richard is always looking at what truly represents a place and when you think of Hong Kong the streets and overcrowded signs come to mind. The signs are no longer allowed to be added to so in time this effect will become something of the past.

This artwork is a limited edition of 25 gloss photographic print made in the artist's darkroom. It is signed and numbered on reverse accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The print is dry-mounted to aluminium, presented in a museum board window mount and a choice of black or white box frame. It can be requested unframed.

Richard Heeps’ seductive, highly saturated colours and sophisticated pictorial structures demonstrate a true love and empathy for his subject matter – be it cool, descriptive interiors, still life, portrait or landscape. His distinctive style pushes the limits of lens-based photography without the need for digital manipulation. He runs his own darkrooms in Cambridge (UK) where he hand prints his colour photography. His work has been exhibited in Museums and Public Galleries around England and he has participated in Art Fairs around the world and his work is now part of many international collections.

Materials used:

Photographic Paper, C-Print, Silver Gelatin
