Original artwork description:

The sunsets along the Bennerley Vaiduct giving a bright cast to a darkening sky. This is a metal framework of cast iron which used to transport coal and industrial materials along from Nottingham to Derbyshire. It's construction was along a marsh bed along the Erewash valley and so the viaduct was made of lighter steel as bricks could not be used in the wetter part of the valley which was prone to flooding. Now being transformed into a nature reserve and inspirational site where new walk ways are being added and a cycleway.
