Original artwork description:

The Oxley River winds its way through the valley below Mt Warning in Northern NSW. Its destination is the Tweed River at Tweed Heads.

I was driving through the area on the never ending search for subjects to paint.

On this particular day I was having no luck at all finding a good subject. Sometimes the best subjects are hard to locate from the car when you are travelling around winding roads that require maximum concentration.

So I gave up in despair and decided to head home for the day. It was getting later in the day and the sun was starting to go down.

Then as I came around a blind corner there it was ... a bend in the Oxley River lit up with the warmth of the afternoon sun.

Problem was there was no where to pull over. I ended up about a kilometer away before I could find a safe parking spot. Determined though I walked back along the road hoping the light wouldn't change to much.

The result is this painting. Hope you like it.
