Below the Pond Series
Watercolour, gouache, graphite, pencil, ink on Fabriano heavy hand made watercolour paper.
The painting is many layered, to express the layers of water, and the land, and time passing beneath the surface of the pond.
About this work
I started my studies of flowing water by taking a video camera below the surface of a range of types of flow - the pond, the dam outflow, the spring, and the stream. This video is from the cotton grass pond, in August 2020 as it stirs slowly with the gentle inflow of a number of springs and underground streams. The entire footage is from below the surface of the water, looking up through the stems of plants, moss and algae. The video formed the basis of further drawing, painting and video work.

Paintings will be sent to you unframed, (unless otherwise stated in the description) and protected with cellophane or paper, in a re-enforced padded envelope or recycled box, on a Tracked Delivery service with the Royal Mail or Parcel Force International for large items.
