Original artwork description:

After the dull weather there were a few relatively fine days when there was the opportunity to have a good look at the local landscape over some fields and make a quick sketch to take back to the studio and make this small painting.
Painted in a spontaneous manner on a Burnt Sienna ground, The Beginning of September is presented in an individually made frame finished white and pale gray ready to hang. Signed in pencil bottom right, titled signed and dated on the reverse.
