Artwork in contemporary figurative style in which I elaborated the imaginary portrait of St. Francis of Assisi when, in his grey/brown woolen robe, on Mount la Verna on September 15, 1224 he was about to receive the sacred stigmata. The sacredness of the moment exudes in the emanation of a glow of light that radiates intensely and delicately throughout the entire painting through the chromatic imprint of his habit. This, reverberating also in the expression of his face, describes his features, letting his strong personality emerge, extreme sweetness and purity of soul that was the background to his being a lovable and mysterious character in his disarming simplicity.
