Artwork description:

"Bee Magnet" is a semi-abstract, two colour screen print, in yellow and fluorescent pink.

The print came about while I was experimenting with overlaying different shapes and forms. The shapes eventually developed into something resembling a flower. The Op Art style waves were added to bring life and dynamism to the image.

How did the title come about? The waves and the flower form reminded me of a physics diagram. This got thinking about the science of flowers. In particular the important part that waves play in attracting bees. Waves in the form of colour and light help make the flower a "Bee Magnet".

This screen print was hand printed in my studio in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

Please note that the pink is difficult to reproduce in the photographs. It's a bright, fluorescent pink - in the photos it looks a little more magenta.

Acid free cartridge paper, water-based acrylics
