I have always been fascinated by the 1920's. So much had changed after the Great War and women especially were starting to gain rights through the early feminist movement. This portrait is inspired by a character in one of my favourite TV series set in the 1920's called The House of Eliott. Beatrice was a fiesty and determined character - a strong female in a male world.
The canvas was first covered in crinkled paper over which the oil paint was laid. It gives some texture and added depth and interest to the painting. The photograph of the painting in a frame is for illustration purposes only. This painting is being sold unframed.
I ship internationally using an insured, tracked and signed for service. Please note that payment of import duty/tax is the responsibility of the buyer.
