This is the second in my series of paintings of the wildlife here in the Pyrénées Orientale.
The backdrop is the 2785 meter(9137ft) Canigou mountain that dominates the region ,where I am able to see these most majestic birds gliding across the landscape on the thermals. A truly mesmerizing sight,as they are the largest bird of prey in Europe. The painting was created from my own reference photo taken whilst hiking with my Labrador in the massif of the Canigou mountain in the Pyrénées. Reference photos were used for the proportions of the Bearded Vulture. The drawing alone took over a week to perfect prior to the painting process.A certificate of Authenticity will be supplied to the purchaser. Please note that the painting will need to be mounted and framed behind glass that will protect it from atmospheric grime.
