‘Bear Hugs’ is a large silkscreen print in a variable edition It is an image which aim to explore the very special bond between a mother and a child. From the earliest of times the mother figure has been depicted in art, most notably as the ‘Madonna and Child’ in western art, and this relationship has been, and continues to be explored through art today.

The inspiration for ‘Bear Hugs’ comes from both a personal relationship we all have with our own mothers, and in the rich cultural depiction of the subject in art. This strong and fundamental connection between mother and child courses like a strong current and is something that touches people’s souls, something that everyone can relate to and make a connection with.

A variable edition means that the print is available in a number of different colours - in this case cerulean blue. Please enquire if interested in different colours.
