Original artwork description:

Boats on beaches are often a popular subject among artists and I am no exception to that as I have painted them again and again in different locations and situations! This painting was created in my native Scotland where the pebble beaches offer colour and texture which is added to by surrounding vegetation and the interesting stuff that always seems to be lying around – buoys, ropes, seaweed – which all add to the atmosphere. Portree Bay on the Isle of Skye is a lovely place to paint too because of the attractive traditional houses on the shoreline. There's a red telephone box there too and although these are no longer in use as phone boxes in Britain, they are so iconic that, instead of having been removed, this one has been turned into a storeroom for boat equipment and the owner's yellow oilskin jackets and wellies!:-)

"Beached" is an original watercolour painting, painted on site in Portree Bay, Isle of Skye, Scotland using 300g rough watercolour paper from Arches and Windsor and Newton paints. It comes ready to frame in a warm white mount to fit a standard frame size of 60x60cm and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed b the artist.
