This is one of my favourite paintings that I completed recently. It is based on a rainy morning at Saunton Sands with my daughter sketching, while my two sons surfed. We had a lovely time looking at the view, painting and sketching. This is the resulting painting that I did in my studio later. It's painted with oils, using some cold wax and some linseed oil to get a contrast with the mat and the shiny areas. I've used tools, palette knives and brushes to create texture to create the atmosphere. It's painted on a block wood panel. Hope you like it.
