Original artwork description:

This painting combines elements of a studio still life setup with references to finch birds. The composition features a branch from the artist's crab apple tree as a natural element and a relief depicting Purple Finches as a prop. I have observed the birds nesting near their home and occasionally sees them flying in and out of a nearby pine tree.
