I have always taken especial comfort from the words of Psalm 46:10: “Be still, and know that I am God.” The words themselves were printed in a Cross, and the verse was repeated in a collage across the entire surface, upon which I worked in brightly colored watercolor crayons to create an active surface—much like our lives. Then, in the midst of all of this action come the repeating, curved forms that move in a rhythm across the canvas—as God arrives to calm us with His presence--all of which is rendered in a calming, cool palette of blue, purple and green. I intend to create a series on this theme. This painting has been given a satin varnish for protection, and hanging hardware is already installed.
