This is the second painting in this series, which was inspired by the special comfort I have always found in the words of Psalm 46:10: “Be still, and know that I am God.” The words themselves were printed in a Cross, and the verse was repeated in a collage across the entire surface, upon which I worked in brightly colored watercolor crayons to create an active surface—much like our lives. Then, in the midst of all of this action come the repeating, curved forms that move in a rhythm across the canvas—as God arrives to calm us with His presence, and heal us with His transforming grace. This painting has been given a satin varnish for protection, and hanging hardware is already installed.
