I have painted this part of the Thames a good number of times now and is not far from the Cheyne Walk area where Whistler painted his fabulous nocturnes, Whistler (and Monet) being the main inspiration for this picture. In the far distance you can just make out the twin chimneys of Battersea Power Station, a view now sadly obscured by a large development of flats around the power station.
