Original artwork description:

Painting: Ink and Paint on Canvas.
Original Artwork

The idea behind this artwork was born during a short walk with an architect who works in the Battersea area. To be precise, it mainly represents the Rosenau Rd (SW11), which perfectly captures a grey 'atmosphere' of this residential inner-city district of south London.
However, this artwork introduces a new, colourful and fresh approach to portraying an old building, by painting the sky with Turkquoise Blue Amsterdam acrylic. Perhaps, this is how Battersea would look like if air pollution levels are reduced. Readings in January 2017, showed that air at some locations in London was worse than Beijing (197 micrograms per cubic metre for particulate matter on the Air Quality Index).

Short listed for The Evening Standard Contemporary Art Prize in collaboration with the National Gallery
