A vibrant and Colourful painting of Bass Rock off the East Coast of Scotland and near North Berwick.
The Bass Rock, or simply the Bass is an island in the outer part of the Firth of Forth. It is a steep-sided volcanic rock home to a large colony of gannets. The rock is uninhabited, but historically was used as a prison. The Bass Rock Lighthouse was constructed on the rock in 1902.
A wonderful Island to view in person however my painting conveys the mystique and and an inspiration for many with colourful works of fiction such as Robert Louis Stevenson's, Catriona, the sequel to Kidnapped.
