The barongan dance is made to resemble a very graceful animal, identical to the ruler of the forest and the universe. The barongan dance is played in groups or many people and the dance movements imitate the might of large animals.
The barongan dance is played with musical instruments such as geduk drums, bonang. saron, demung and kempul.
