In the series “Losing references” I investigate the importance of cultural references in our society. How do you feel when seeing the most representative personalities of the XX and XXI century deal with an inproper situation? The purpose of the series is to make people think about the relationship we all have with culture and cultural icons, and what could happen if we lose it/them, voluntarily or not.

“Barack’s used cars” shows the former president of the USA as the owner of a used cars shop. The sketch for the painting was created assembling the background and the picture of Obama (the original shows him in his office inside the White House). The artwork was painted in two sessions: a monochrome version first, then I added colours as if I was colouring a film tape.
