This magnificent skyline, on the Northumberland Coast of North East England, an area filled with castles and historic sites, has been a favourite location for my landscape and seascape paintings for over 50 years. The border with Scotland being only a few miles further north and Newcastle and Durham to the south, make this a fascinating place to paint. A dramatic piece of British seascape art that creates a focal point in any location.
This 30" x 26" oil on canvas shows Bamburgh Castle in a misty light, wet sand reflecting the castle and the tiny figure giving scale to the immensity and magnificence of the scene.
