Original artwork description:

In my search for my next muse I stumbled over a blog called 'Brown Girls do Ballet', and found a series of photographs by Nicki Bosch of the New York ballerina Gabriella Alleyne. I instantly knew I wanted to paint her, partly because of her fabulous hair but also the compositions I knew I could create using the shapes of her body. A few emails and a conversation later I set to work, with the kind permission of Gabriella. I wanted to contrast the cool shades of the background with the warmth and richness of her skin tones, I also wanted her body to form a curving line down the painting. I hope to create a large series based on Gabriella.

This painting is framed in solidly made, 55 ml wide, frame painted in dark grey. The painting is painted on MDF board and mounted on card.Frame was professionally made to order by Frames Express.
