A mixed media painting, watercolour and fine liner, of a girl watching her fellow dancers form in the wings of the stage. I was brought up dancing and am so inspired by the beautiful shapes made by ballet dancers, and their attire. Here I've tried to highlight all the elements in their own way, the long and graceful limbs in realistic watercolour paintwork and the linear shapes and angles made by the tutu in static ink, creating a deconstructed effect.
This is painted in watercolour on 300 gsm 100% cotton Langford prestige paper, the paper is heavy and isn't ruched or buckled. All my paintings are shipped well protected in heavy card and waterproofing.
Watercolour on 140lb 100% cotton paper
