Original artwork description:

A painting of a ballerina waiting backstage in the wings adjusting her pointe shoes. The nerves and excitement felt before going on stage, combined with the beautiful silhouettes of dancers bathed in shards of stage lighting just make for such wonderful subjects to paint. Dance was my first inspiration as an artist and was what led me to paint in watercolour, I feel the lightness of watercolour lends itself so well to the delicacy of the world of ballet and that any other medium is too heavy and sedentary.
