Original artwork description:
This is a portrait of James Arthur Baldwin (August 2, 1924 – December 1, 1987) He was an American novelist, playwright, and activist. His essays and books explore intricacies of racial, sexual, and class distinctions in Western societies, most notably in mid-20th-century America.
For this work, I had the background printed and laminated onto architectural drafting mylar and then painted the portrait directly onto the mylar.
BALDWIN is a one-of-a-kind original work of art. It is produced using India ink and acrylic paint. I only sell original work so there will only be one original and no authorized copies will ever be made. The painting is signed on the front and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.
This painting will be ready to hang, out of the box. It will be mounted on tempered masonite with a 1 inch border all around. It will have a hanging strip on the back and I include a “monkey hook” for easy attachment to your wall. It can be on your wall within five minutes.
