I view musical instruments as objects of art and beauty and enjoy capturing my admiration for them in my paintings. This painting is a Balalaika which is a Russian stringed musical instrument with a characteristic triangular wooden, hollow body, fretted neck and three strings. Balalaikas are often used for Russian folk music and dancing. The painting was created with gorgeous colors of pink, green, red and lavender over top a background of brilliant orange yellow. The edges are painted and all needed hardware is attached and the painting is ready to hang on the wall.
