This impressionist oil painting is of Baddesley Clinton, a beautiful moated manor house situation in Warwickshire, England. It is believed to have originated in the 13th century, and was sold to the National Trust in the 1970's.
Having lived in various parts of England, and Paris France for many years, my influences have drawn me to the beautiful and rich landscapes and history of these countries. The Paris museums brought me closer to the richer, more lively paintings of the impressionists, and it was with impressionism in mind, that I adopted the direct approach of painting, with a higher key palette, and small, textured strokes of colour to try and capture my return visits to England.
It has been painted with extra fine professional oil paints, on an Italian canvas attached to a wooden board support.
