News and images of Ukrainians returning to their homeland inspired me to create the painting Back Home. For me, the strong red colours of the sky and the broken houses express the maltreated homeland that they found on their return. Based on the national colours of Ukraine, the sky slowly turns blue and the landscape is continuously streaked with yellow from the horizon. For me, the atmosphere of the picture expresses the hope and confidence that the country can be rebuilt and the invaders driven out for good.
The painting was exhibited in a solo exhibition in Göttingen and Bad Hersfeld in 2023. It has a glazed wooden shadow gap frame, which remains in the background due to the medium grey colour and the frame height and does not restrict the expanse of the landscape. Of course, you can also purchase the picture with a different frame colour or without a frame at a lower price. In addition, the sides of the picture are painted so that it can also be hung without a frame. The picture is signed on the front and back and is ready to hang. The picture surface has a varnish coating with UV protection.
