Original artwork description:
There have been a couple of new Babies born in my family recently, which is what inspired this painting. I love depicting this intimate subject, even though I have never painted it in the same way, twice. For this particular piece, I took inspiration from a few pieces depicting the subject. Among them were pieces by Tobiasse, Picasso, and also Wiinblaad. Loads of sentiment went into this painting, where we feel we captured the Mother in a fluid moment, as she is moving her hand to wrap it around her child’s back. This canvas is painted around the edges, so it can be hung unframed.
